Dear members and friends of the DGM,
For exactly 100 years, the German Materials Society has been representing the interests of its members in the field of materials science and materials technology. It is based on tradition and yet open to visions - in other words, it stands firm on the ground and at the same time "reaches for the stars". No wonder, then, that the DGM anniversary celebration on 27 November 2019 in the architecturally visionary AXICA Congress and Conference Centre at the Brandenburg Gate, not far from the founding site of the Society, included the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy as well as a genuine astronaut in the squad of congratulators.
